Toronto scrapped a huge number of summer camp programming back in May. It just wasn’t going to be safe enough to allow large groups of children to get together this summer. Parents hoping to send their restless kids to overnight camp would have to find something else to occupy them with.
Fortunately, all hope is not lost! Toronto has just released plans for a socially distanced camp experience for kids age 6 to 12. The camp groups will be composed of less campers and more camp leaders, which means it will be easier for staff to keep campers safe.
Kids can expect to participate in a variety of activities such as dance lessons, arts and crafts, nature walks, and music. More than 150 recreation centres are hosting these camps all across the city.
Here is a helpful map of each site offering a variety of camp programs, as well as the barcodes you will need for registration.
