Rover Mission to Mars
China this morning, launched its first rover mission to Mars. It should arrive in orbit around the Red Planet in February. Called Tianwen-1, or “Questions to Heaven”, the rover won’t actually try to land on the surface for a further two to three months.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is expected back in his seat in Parliament today, and the Opposition parties are ready to grill him on the government’s cancelled contract with the WE Charity. At issue is cabinet’s decision to give the charity control over a 900-million-dollar student program that had close ties to Trudeau, several of his family members and Finance Minister Bill Morneau.
The Halton District School board is urging the provincial government to drop the hybrid model when students return to school this fall, warning it could lead to more COVID-19 infections and that it would be unfair to working parents who would have to find childcare.
Meanwhile, almost two-third of parents in a new poll say they believe that children returning to school in the fall should wear masks at least part of the time.
