New McDonald’s Cups Honour Indigenous Culture

If you grab a coffee at a McCafe this holiday season take a close look at the artwork on the cups. The imagery is designed by Toronto based artist Philip Cote III.

Cote is an Indigenous elder from Moose Deer Point First Nation in Muskoka, Ontario, and a graduate of OCAD University’s Interdisciplinary Art Media and Design Masters program. His work is featured in murals around the city of Toronto.

On the McDonald’s cups you will see Indigenous symbolism from across Canada, including depictions of medicine wheels, toboggans, the Northern Lights, local fauna and more. Enjoy!
