Happy Valentine’s Day weekend! And a double happy for a long weekend. If you are looking for some ideas to make the most of it, I’ve got some things for you to listen to, watch, read and spend your time.
[Listening]
It wouldn’t be Valentine’s Day without a little bit of romance, no? Whether you are single or taken, who would say “No” to a date with Don Amero? He goes live virtually this Sunday for a musical performance and it’s extra intimate because he can see your screen too! Get your tickets here.
[Watching]
I just can’t get enough of Rupaul’s Drag Race – it’s almost like the producers know it! So they’ve got two seasons airing at once, including season 13 of the regular series and season 2 of Drag Race UK. Drag Race is the perfect blend of reality tv goodness and the performing arts. It has everything from choreographed dancing to singing to acting to making outfits from scratch – it’s just perfect. Every Thursday I watch UK and each Friday night I tune into season 13. Need to catch up? It’s available to watch on Crave!
[Reading]
I’ve been a little behind on my reading goal this month, but Haruki Murakami’s After Dark has helped me out of that slump. The book follows the story of Mari as she sits in a Denny’s Diner past midnight and the city seems to come alive in strange ways, bringing about odd characters who sit down with her at her diner booth. It’s hard to put down!
[Spending Time]
Do you like high pressure situations? How about video games? Overcooked 2 offers a collaborative multiplayer glimpse into the life of chefs in the height of lunch or dinner hour. There are meals to be made and dishes to be cleaned and impatient customers waiting for you to get those meals to them. Warning: this could bring you and your partner closer together or verge on relationship-ending! Right now, it’s available on a free trial for Nintendo Switch users until February 16th.
