Now in its 70th year, Mental Health Week is a Canadian tradition in which we all rally to protect and promote mental health.
One in five Canadians will have a mental health concern in their lifetime, and during the pandemic, mental health has become more important than ever. Most of us are experiencing isolation, anxiety, and grief.
May 3-9 is Mental Health Week.
Focusing on naming, expressing and dealing with our emotions is important for our mental health.

This year’s slogan from the Canadian Mental Health Association is “Name it, don’t numb it.” When dealing with heavy feelings, the best thing to do is to start by giving those feelings words. Once we can name a feeling, we’re more likely to be able to manage it.
But you don’t have to manage it alone. Find mental health supports near you from ontario.ca/page/find-mental-health-support.
And remember to check in on your friends and family. Reaching out can make a difference for everyone.
