Happy weekend! Finally, some proper May weather! What have you got planned for the weekend? I’ve got some ideas below! 

[Reading] 

It’s the perfect time to get outside with a good book. This week I’d recommend Super Sad True Love Story from Gary Shteyngart. Although a little existential and kind of a downer at times, it makes for a quirky dystopian satire that is guaranteed to get you laughing – and maybe crying. It certainly lives up to its title! 

[Listening] 

Building up that summer playlist? Shawnee has another single out this weekend called Burnin Love and it features Ottawa local, Jamie Fine. It’s got a similar vibe to Shawnee’s last single, Got It Bad. We got a chance to speak with Shawnee about the new tune – check out our conversation here. 

[Watching] 

I have been strangely obsessed with Grace and Frankie, a show about two total opposite seniors who end up living together when they find out their husbands have been cheating on them with eachother. I think the old lady sass and class reminds me of my own Granny, Jill Sr. Check it out on Netflix.  

[Spending Time] 

Do you like multiplayer games? Have you ever played a co-op game? If not, I’d highly recommend It Take Two, a collaborative two-player game for Play Station. It tells the story of a couple who have decided to divorce, but when their daughter wishes they would not, their whole world changes. It’s kind of like Honey, I Shrunk the Kids but with puzzles and challenges. My partner and I have really enjoyed it.
