From two renowned artists leading the way in award nominations at the 2021 BET Awards to hints of new music on the way from a queen in the music industry, it’s been yet another exciting week in Hip-Hop!
Michelle Williams recently gave fans a behind the scenes look into a mini-reunion she had with Beyonce and Kelly Rowland. Fans were able to see Kelly Rowland‘s newborn and also received a hint that Beyonce might be working on some new heat for us all. During the mini-reunion, Kelly shared that she was cooking chicken and rice soup and Michelle had asked Beyonce, “B, are you making some musical soup right now?” Beyonce then responded jokingly by saying “I’m cooking some music, that’s Chef Boyardee and Chef Boy Kelly,” and then added “You know I’m editing that s**t out.” Did Beyonce let something slip accidentally or was she discretely giving us all the plug?
In other news, leading in nominations for the 2021 BET Awards, Megan Thee Stallion and Da Baby are making some major headway with 7 nominations each! Megan Thee Stallion is up for Best Female Hip Hop Artist, Video of the Year for “WAP”, Album of the Year for Good News, twice for Viewer’s Choice Award, and Best Collaboration for her features with DaBaby on “Cry Baby” and with Cardi B for “WAP”.
Shifting things over to Da Baby, he was nominated for Best Male Hip Hop Artist, Album of the Year for Blame It on Baby, Viewer’s Choice Award, and four nominations for Best Collaboration for “Rockstar” with Roddy Ricch, “Cry Baby” with Megan Thee Stallion, “For the Night” with Pop Smoke and Lil Baby, and the “What’s Poppin” remix with Jack Harlow, Lil Wayne, and Tory Lanez. Needless to say, the 2021 BET Awards are going to be hype this year and are a must watch!
