Tame Impala have announced their revised 2021 North American tour to promote their 2020 album, The Slow Rush! The only Canadian stop is in Toronto at the Scotiabank Arena, although the date is to be decided at this point. Vancouver was scheduled into the original tour, but it has been not confirmed in the new list of stops. It is showing up as cancelled on ticketing websites, along with four other previous US scheduled stops.

Besides the initial excitement of the tour announcement, you might have noticed the manner in which the tour was announced was odd. Leading up to the announcement, Tame Impala shared a video of the band in lab coats. Further to that, they put out a press release to go along with the tour announcement on June 22, but it discusses a fictional drug called Rushium, which the band are allegedly marketing. In fact, the tour is called “Phase 1 Rushium® Trials.” Rushium bares a lot of resemblance to the COVID-19 vaccine, making for an interesting angle. Is this an appropriate way to sell tickets? Is it too soon? Regardless, the tour is finally happening.

If you have previously purchased tickets, those are valid. However, buying new tickets for the Toronto show is not an option at this point.
