During the press conference, Cuomo apologized for some of the allegations stating that he meant no harm by his actions. Stating, “I do hug and kiss people casually. Women and men, I have done it all my life.” He then went on to apologize to his daughters, claim that the investigation was politically motivated, and congratulate New York on how it handled the pandemic.
Andrew Cuomo’s resignation will take effect in 14 days. Subsequently, Kathy Hochul will take over as New York’s 1st woman Governor.
As for now, democratic representatives (Hochul included), have condemned the former governor’s actions.
