If you were planning on seeing The Weeknd perform at Scotiabank Arena in February, you might be a little disappointed to read this news. On Monday, The Weeknd announced via Instagram that he is scrapping his upcoming world tour in its current form. He plans to move all of the shows to stadiums, and will instead start touring sometime this summer.
The “Blinding Lights” singer was originally set to promote his latest album, After Hours, throughout 2020 with the After Hours world tour. However, complications from the COVID-19 pandemic forced promoter Live Nation to postpone all of the dates multiple times. The tour has been rebranded as the After Hours til’ Dawn tour, and while new dates have yet to be announced, the artist has already indicated that shows will be added in South America, Asia, Australia, Africa, and the Middle East.
The Weeknd has indicated that anybody who had previously purchased tickets for any of his upcoming shows will have their tickets automatically refunded, and will be given priority access to purchase tickets when the new dates are announced.
