Season Two of NationTalk’s Indigenous Health Today is Coming to APTN

APTN has confirmed that NationTalk’s Indigenous Health Today will be returning for a second season.

Hosted by Marion Crowe, CEO of the First Nations Health Managers Association, the second season will be divided into two sections. The first three episodes will focus on the current state of COVID-19 and the new Omicron variant, while the rest of the season will focus on changing the Canadian conversation surrounding Indigenous Health.

“I am honoured and thrilled to support this new initiative aimed at creating open, credible dialogue on the health issues that impact our communities. By taking such concrete actions, together, we can help to ensure the health of our nations for generations to come,” says Marion Crowe, CEO, First Nations Health Managers Association.

The goal of Indigenous Health Today is to improve awareness, challenge assumptions, and change the norms in healthcare for Indigenous Nations all across Canada.

“Following the success of the last Indigenous Health Today APTN Television series, we are committed to providing a comprehensive program for health matters pertaining to Indigenous Peoples that incorporates treatment and management, prevention and health promotion, as well as addressing the social determinants of health”. “It’s a start, we want to shift the conversation about how we look at supporting Indigenous health outcomes,” says Don Barraclough President and CEO of NationTalk and Indigenous Health Today.

Season two will start on January 29, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. EST on APTN, and will air every Saturday for 12 weeks. You can also tune in to the live townhall every Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. EST at IHToday.ca/townhall.
