Artist CHIPPEWAR Is Raising Awareness of Indigenous Issues Through Pop Art

Toronto-based artist Jay Soule (better known as CHIPPEWAR) is raising awareness of Indigenous issues through his artwork. More specifically, he explores Indigenous issues through the lens of pop art.

Soule began his career as a multimedia artist at the height of the Idle No More movement and wanted to use his art as a way of contributing to the movement and enacting positive change in Indigenous communities.

His art blends his Indigenous heritage with the popular culture that he grew up consuming, to create a style uniquely his own.

You can purchase art prints, t-shirts, hats, and other apparel from his website, which you can find by clicking here. Or, you can visit Chippewar Nation at 721 Queen St West in Toronto.
