Earlier this week, Mark and Jem had the opportunity to sit down and talk with two people who were involved with Air Canada and the Black Aviation Professionals Network‘s historic all-Black flight that took place on February 11th, 2022.
Bernard Tavernier is Manager of General Operations for Air Canada, and was one of the people responsible for organizing the event. Dani Claire was one of the airline hostesses that took part in the flight.
On February 11th, Air Canada and the Black Aviation Professionals Network organized a flight from Toronto to Fort Lauderdale and back that was operated by an all-Black crew, with the intention of celebrating Black History Month and the contributions that both organizations Black employees have made in the field of aviation.
