The Easter long weekend is finally upon us, which means a number of businesses and services will be operating on holiday hours. Here’s a look at what is open and closed this Easter weekend.
If you’re taking city transit anywhere this weekend, be prepared to plan accordingly. The TTC will be operating on holiday hours for Good Friday, with subway service beginning at 6am. Likewise, GO Transit will be operating on Saturday hours for Good Friday. Both services will be operating normally for the rest of the long weekend.
If you need to get any last-minute grocery shopping done, most grocery stores will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday, but some locations will be operating on holiday hours. Check your local grocery store to see if they will be staying open. Likewise, all LCBO and The Beer Store locations will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Select LCBO locations will also be operating on reduced hours for Easter Monday.
While most malls will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday, some will be open for your shopping convenience:
- CF Eaton Centre will be open on Good Friday from 11am to 6pm, and Easter Sunday from 11am to 6pm
- CF Markville will be open on Good Friday from 11am to 6pm
- Pacific Mall will be open all weekend from 11am to 8pm
Most attractions will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday, but some will remain open. Specifically, Casa Loma will be open on Good Friday and Easter Sunday from 9:30am to 5pm, and Ripley’s Aquarium will be open from 10am to 8pm throughout the long weekend.
Lastly, all government offices will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday. Mail delivery will also be postponed on Good Friday and Easter Monday, and all Toronto Public Library locations will be closed on Good Friday, Easter Sunday, and Easter Monday.
