Here’s What Is Open and Closed in Toronto This Canada Day

Canada Day is upon us, which means you might need to make some adjustments to your daily routine this Friday. Here’s a look at what is open and closed in Toronto this Canada Day.

All government offices will be closed on Canada Day, as will all Toronto Public Library locations. Likewise, no mail delivery will take place either. So, if you need to get anything renewed or send anything out by mail, it might be worth getting done a little bit early.

If you use TTC to get around, we suggest adding some extra time to your travel plan, as all TTC routes will be operating on a Sunday schedule for Canada Day. Likewise, Go Transit will be operating on a Saturday schedule.

If you need to grab any groceries, we recommend picking things up ahead of time, as most major grocery stores will be closed for Canada Day, as will all LCBO locations. However, select grocery stores and The Beer Store locations will be open for all of your needs. Please check with your local stores for hours of operation.

Most malls will be closed for Canada Day. However, CF Toronto Eaton Centre, CF Markville, Toronto Premium Outlets, and Pacific Mall will remain open for all of your retail needs.

If you have family in town, or you’re just looking to get out for Canada Day, there will be plenty of activities going on around the city. The Toronto Zoo, CN Tower, and Ripley’s Aquarium will all be open regular hours, the Royal Ontario Museum will have free admission for all galleries and special exhibitions, and Casa Loma will be open for general admission tours from 9:30 am to 5 pm. However, if you’re looking for something a bit different, Canada’s Wonderland will be featuring live music, food, and street performers before a nighttime fireworks show. No matter how you plan on spending Canada Day, there’s something going on for everyone.

From all of us at 106.5 Elmnt fm, have a safe long weekend.
