Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced that Canada will commemorate the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II on September 19th with a national day of mourning, which will be considered a federal statutory holiday. While there is no confirmation as to whether or not this holiday will be recognized at the provincial level. Trudeau has confirmed that discussions are underway with the provinces. September 19th falls directly in line with Queen Elizabeth II‘s funeral in London. Earlier this week, the leaders of Australia and New Zealand confirmed they will also be marking the death of Queen Elizabeth II with a national day of mourning, which will be held on September 22nd and September 26th respectively.
