October Is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In Canada, one in eight women will get breast cancer in their lifetime. Furthermore, according to Cancer Care Ontario, First Nations women statistically get diagnosed at later stages. Lastly, while rare, men can get diagnosed with breast cancer as well. So get checked early, and get checked often, because when caught early enough, breast cancer has a 99% survival rate. For the month of October, the Canadian Cancer Society is matching all donations, so every dollar donated makes double the impact in the fight against cancer.
