December 6th is the National Day of Remembrance & Action on Violence Against Women

Today, we acknowledge the National Day of Remembrance & Action on Violence Against Women. It was 30 years ago today that 14 women at Polytechnique Montreal were murdered. While much has changed in the past 30 years, violence and misogyny are still issues that girls, women, and 2SLGBTQI+ individuals have to deal with far too often.

In particular, more than 4 in 10 Indigenous women experience physical or sexual assault from a partner. Likewise, more than 6 in 10 Indigenous women will experience psychological abuse from a partner at some point in their life.
