What’s Open and Closed in Toronto Throughout The 2022 Holiday Season

The holiday season is once again upon us, so let’s take a look at what’s open and closed in Ottawa throughout the holidays.

The Toronto Public Library will be closed on December 25th, 26th, and January 1st. However, all Toronto Public Library locations will be open from 9am to 1pm on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

If you use transit to get around the city, all TTC services will run on a Sunday schedule on December 25th and January 1st. All TTC services will also run an early-run holiday schedule on December 26th. GO Transit will run on a Sunday schedule on December 25th and January 1st, and will run on a Saturday schedule on December 26th, 27th, and January 2nd.

If you need some retail therapy to get through the holiday season, most retail stores and shopping malls will be operating on modified hours on December 24th and December 31st. Most stores and malls will also be closed on December 25th and January 1st. However, CF Toronto Eaton Centre will be open on January 1st with shortened hours. If you need to pick up groceries over the holidays, all Rabba Fine Foods and 7/11 locations will be open 24/7 throughout the holiday season. All LCBO and Beer Store locations will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Beer Store locations will be operating on modified holiday hours on Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Eve. You can click here to see what your store’s holiday hours are.

If you have family in town and need to entertain them, you’ll have a number of options over the holiday season. For starters, all movie theatres in the city will be open on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Likewise, Ontario Place will be open from 6am to 11pm through the holiday season. The CN Tower, The Toronto Zoo, and Ripley’s Aquarium will also be open through the holidays. However, not everything will be staying open. Canada’s Wonderland, Casa Loma, The Hockey Hall of Fame, and The Ontario Science Centre will all be closed on December 25th and January 1st.
