In a world where online shopping is most popular, one entrepreneur has changed the way many Indigenous vendors sell their products.
Amanda Bernard is a proud member of the Madawaska Maliseet First Nation and an advocate for Indigenous entrepreneurship and art. Shawish is a virtual Indigenous marketplace that hosts Indigenous entrepreneurs and artists to create their own shops and upload their products. Making it a one-stop shop to find authentic Indigenous products.

Shawish does not charge any transaction or monthly fee, making it affordable and accessible for Indigenous vendors, setting it apart from other marketplaces.
Shawish verifies that all vendors listed on the virtual marketplaces are Indigenous, to ensure that products are authentic to the Indigenous culture and that money is going into/remaining in the Indigenous community.
