Elmnt fm’s “Juiceman” Jonathan Shaw recently had the chance to sit down with three of the stars of Star Wars (Anangong Miigaading), A New Hope – Dennis Chartrand (Darth Vader), Ajuawak Kapashesit (Han Solo), and Theresa Eischen (Princess Leia), to talk about getting cast in the project, why an Ojibwe language version of Star Wars is so important, coming up with words in the Ojibwe language for iconic Star Wars terms, and more.

Star Wars (Anangong Miigaading), A New Hope is the Anishinaabemowin (Ojibwe) version of the classic 1977 film Star Wars: A New Hope, and was made in collaboration with Walt Disney Studios, Lucasfilm, Dakota Ojibwe Tribal Council, The University of Manitoba, and APTN.
The film is playing exclusively in select Cineplex theatres across Canada. Click here for dates and showtimes. The film is expected to come to Disney Plus and APTN in the future.
