There is no easy way to say it – we need your help. First Peoples Radio and Elmnt FM need to raise $150,000 by the end of the year, or otherwise risk Elmnt FM falling silent. As a not-for-profit organization, First Peoples Radio founded Elmnt FM over six years ago in order to amplify Indigenous voices and help provide opportunities for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis artists. However, we never truly recovered from the global pandemic, and are struggling to continue station operations.
For every dollar beyond our $150,000 goal that we raise throughout the months of November and December, we will be donating 50% to Mādahòkì Farm in Ottawa and Na-Me-Res Native Men’s Residence in Toronto.
Furthermore, we invite you to join us on Friday, November 22nd from 9am-5pm for an on-air fundraising drive, where you will have a chance to hear directly from the artists and community members that we impact on a daily basis. Additionally, we will also be hosting an online auction on November 22nd, with more details to come in the near future.
We would like to thank everybody who has generously donated since we began accepting listener donations, and we hope to be able to continue the work we are doing for many years to come.
