Elisapie, Julian Taylor, Snotty Nose Rez Kids Among 2025 Juno Award Nominees

The nominees for the 2025 Juno Awards have been announced, including nominations for Tate McRae, The Weeknd, Shawn Mendes, and more. This years nominees also include a number of Indigenous artists, such as hip-hop duo Snotty Nose Rez Kids, who are up for three awards including Rap Album/EP of the Year for RED FUTURE.

Snotty Nose Rez Kids are also up for Rap Single of the Year for “BBE“, as well as Contemporary Indigenous Artist or Group of the Year. They are joined in that category by Adrian Sutherland, Tia Wood, Sebastian Gaskin, and Celeigh Cardinal. Cardinal is also nominated for Adult Contemporary Album of the Year for her latest album, Boundless Possibilities.

Likewise, this year’s nominees for Traditional Indigenous Artist or Group of the Year include Black Bear Singers, Brianna Lizotte, Cree Confederation, Northern Cree, and Young Spirit.

Inuk singer-songwriter Elisapie is nominated for two awards this year, including Album of the Year for her fourth studio album, Inuktitut. The album is also nominated for Adult Alternative Album of the Year. However, she isn’t the only Indigenous artist who is nominated for their latest album this year. Black-Mohawk musician Julian Taylor‘s latest album, Pathways, is nominated for Contemporary Roots Album of the Year. If you’re a fan of Alternative music, Métis artist Ruby Waters‘ latest album, What’s The Point?, is nominated for Alternative Album of the Year. However, if you prefer Blues, Swing Blues group Blue Moon Marquee are nominated for Blues Album of the Year for New Orleans Sessions.

The 2025 Juno Awards will air live from Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia on Sunday, March 30th, with third-time host Michael Bublé. To see the full list of nominees, click here.
